Road Safety
The Road Safety Unit is committed to making our roads safer for all road users. A way of doing this is by raising awareness about specific issues and by changing attitudes and behaviour.
We aim to do this through:
Working with partners, the introduction of Community Speed Watch teams, raising awareness through education and campaigns and using multi-agency initiatives to ensure compliance with road safety legislation.
Speed kills and it is in all our interests to ensure that our roads are safe for drivers, other road users and pedestrians.
Objective
To support Staffordshire County Council in achieving its local target to reduce the total number of killed and serious casualties resulting from road crashes from a baseline of 499 average to 300 in 2008.
