Staffordshire County Council
Staffordshire County Council is committed to combating crime and disorder, and their causes, and to working with Stafford Borough Community Safety Partnership (as well as the other seven Community Safety Partnerships in the county) to assist in developing a strategic direction for Community Safety in Staffordshire.
It does this in a number of ways:
- through the services it provides such as social services, the youth service, highway management and trading standards;
- by contributing money and other resources to run locally based community safety projects;
- by investing in improvements to street lighting and developing safer routes to school;
- by taking the lead on preventing youth offending and re-offending through Staffordshire Youth Offending Service;
- by employing community partnership workers and supporting a vibrant voluntary sector.
The County Council recognises that personal and environmental safety is central to people's quality of life.
"Creating a safe and attractive environment" is a key corporate aim of the County Council."
