| | Road Safety Enforcement and Education 15th, April, 2008 | | | | | | During April, officers will be targeting drivers who use excess speed throughout the division - an offence that could result in a court appearance.
Forming part of the commitment to crime reduction through public reassurance and confidence, the six neighbourhood policing units (NPU) of Chase division will continue to work with partners to provide motorists with support, advice and guidance as well as using legislation available to them.
Chief Inspector Paul Trevor, Operations and Community Chase North, said: “The operation throughout April forms part of an ongoing initiative across the division to meet the needs of the community in addressing road safety issues and concerns.
“We are committed to reducing the number of instances of road traffic collisions on all our roads and would urge all motorists to monitoring their speed - not just during April but whenever they get behind the wheel.”
“It is vital that the communities feel safe and safer roads make safer communities.”
Drivers caught speeding will be given a £60 penalty and three licence points. Alternatively they could be issued with a summons to attend court. | |
